Thousands of us showed up at the super bowl so that ICE didn’t show up!
We were ready & we did it.
I’ve never been to a super bowl ever! Rarely even aware it was even happening.
But I was there yesterday! Along with a few thousand of us.
Of course it was not as thrilling as being able to bask in the great energy of Bad Bunny, but it was satisfying.
NO ICE AT THE SUPER BOWL!
We gathered about a mile outside the stadium and then marched for that mile to the edge of the stadium door, chanting and shouting and banging drums and pan lids, bowing whistles as well.

Speeches were given, while activists pledged to keep ICE & DHS & Border Patrol far far away from the Bay.
There were several brilliant creative signs besides the usual FUCK ICE/DHS/BP/ tRUMP & REGIME signs. Some of my favorite:

Police presence was over the top: Santa Clara police were there in large numbers, some on bicycles, some on motorcycles, some on foot. One was blatantly videoing us before the march began so.it was only fair for me to video him.

Others were from Stockton and on horseback.

Police had closed off both the walking path from one side of the stadium to the other, plus even the light rail train was not permitted to continue from one side of the stadium to the other.
So it was a 2.7 mile hike from the last train station to where we were gathering before the march. Returning from the protest back to the train station was an addition 2.7 mile hike.
I left home at 10 a.m. this morning and made it back by 8:30pm. So with the march, I put in about 7 miles but it was worth every sore toe and tired muscle.
FUCK ICE! FUCK tRump! NO HATE! NO FEAR! IMMIGRANTS ARE WELCOME HERE!

I love it!!!! We need to keep that same energy with all injustices in the US. I pray we all stay WOKE. It took to long for people from this country to feel like we belong so the real history of the US can be told without retribution or death threats. I”m 66 born here and still don’t feel free. Racism, and discrimination will always be alive in US along as we continue to hide the truth. I pray that we don’t allow or fall short of stopping those same people who are raping, and abusing our children to ban our books.
God Bless us all.
Appreciation to everyone who represented in Santa Clara
