…as long as racism exists and is perpetuated in our country thus enabling the wealthy to hog more than their share of resources. And not ‘just’ the 1% but the richest 70% on our land!
We’ve invaded almost every country in the world, certainly every country populated by Black or brown people including the original people of this land, to exploit their resources and labor for our wealth. Because we have this illgotten wealth, there is this only ONE reason we have poverty including homelessness, addiction, violence in our country.
It’s not about the lack of resources that is plaguing so many other countries or the puppet leaders installed by the fleeing colonizers, enslavers, gentrifiers; or the harsh natural environment or any other one thing EXCEPT the fact that wealthy people are hogging sooooo much more than what they really need.
White people, people with more money and access to resources than the bottom 30% humans of our nation will NEVER be “safe” until ALL resources are shared equally; ALL basic rights and needs belong to everyone; until the bastions of racism, sexism, nationalism, male violence are smashed to smithereens.
Yes, we have a LOT of work to do. But we also have much more information, guidance, ideas, advantages than our ancestors who defied slavery, who held our country accountable for the promises of our constituion and democracy.
Plus we have the internet.
But MOSTLY because we have EACH OTHER! TO THE STREETS!
