COMPARISONS..

I probably shouldn’t but I can’t help comparing Nigeria with Ghana. Granted, I’ve only been in Nigeria for a week now and I spent several months in Ghana so I don’t have a really clear picture, most likely not of either country.

UNEVEN STEPS … AND FLOORS

One of the most challenging things about both Ghana and Nigeria’s buildings is the uneven stairs. I don’t know if you can see from this picture but sometimes a stair or several in the same block of stairs are lower or higher than the ones that come before of after.

ENCOUNTER WITH A POLICEMAN’S WRATH

There are what are probably police, or maybe just men in police-looking uniforms, hoovering along the edge of the road stopping cars, peering in, maybe saying something to the driver in a language I don’t understand, as the driver slips a bank note so stealthily I only know he has accomplished this when we are waved on and allowed to proceed.

LIONS AND TIGERS AND LIZARDS!!!

I feel like I’m taking pictures of these incredible, colorful (at least the males are) lizards the same way some visitors to the u.s.ofa. take pictures of squirrels!

Oh no! If a dark-skinned guy could pale…

I did NOT come over 9000 miles to another continent to counter the lies and propaganda spread by and about tRump.

NIGERIA: MY FIRST WEEK

I have not seen much of Nigeria, or Lagos, since I’ve been here these past two days. As we did our adjusting from our 10 hour flight and acclimating to the heat and humidity – the former being not so bad but the later being intense – we only did short, brief walks around our Lagos accommodations, out for maybe five blocks to get food and water mostly plus anti-maleria pills.
