I’ve had the (dis)pleasure of having three separate encounters with 3 white male maga individuals in 3 different states.
Those are the differences: their rhetoric is the same. In fact, almost word for word.
The first thing they talk about is the anti-immigrant, white supremacist, ignorant and worse than false ideas that immigrants are hurting children. They all also precede immigrant with “illegal”.
The 40-something year old white man who approached me in front of the Supreme Court Friday while we were demanding the Supreme Court NOT undermine lesbian and gay marriage rights, called himself an advocate for ‘trafficked’ youth.
He actually claimed the concrete cages with bars for walls were built along the border so that ‘illegal’ immigrants incarcerated there could be observed with children to determine if they were being trafficked or if the adult was indeed that child’s mother.
The white early 20’s young male who approached me at the metro station began interacting with me screaming at the top of his lungs that 100,000 immigrants are raping children.
Finally, the white grandfather challenging my “keep immigrants, deport the racists” t-shirt at a Texas rest stop also began his rant with the criminal ‘illegal’ immigrants stealing children and selling them.
When I challenge their hateful ignorance, asking for evidence and how many days they spent on the border or how many immigrants they’ve talked with or at least observed, they then launch into the rant about the evil democrats.
I stop that flow with letting them know I’m not a democrat but a justice-loving womon.
I’ll write more about the middle of these conversations but towards the end they all seem to want to talk about the “unborn”.
I refuse to talk with any man about the fuckin “unborn”.
